An essay on Philip Dormer Stanhope, Earl of Chesterfield, written upon the publication of his correspondence. Two signatures of Lady Chesterfield (the former Petronilla Melusina von der Schulenburg), dated 1743 and 1744, are pasted onto the manuscript.
